Publication Schedule and Processing Information

Publication Frequency

Journal Marine Services (JMS) plans two issues each calendar year, ordinarily issued in April and October. The journal's record begins in 2025, and its issue archive should remain the authoritative source for the actual publication dates of historical volumes.

Number 2 October

Manuscript Handling

Submissions are accepted through OJS. Incoming manuscripts undergo suitability and ethics screening, independent peer review, revision where required, editorial decision, and production checks. The date on which an issue or article is made public must be recorded accurately. Delays should be communicated to affected authors and explained openly when they affect the publication schedule.

Processing Duration

The publisher's earlier DOAJ evaluation recorded eight weeks as an estimated submission-to-publication period for JMS. This figure requires reconciliation against the actual OJS history and must not be represented as a guaranteed publication time. After an editorial audit, JMS may publish its verified mean or median processing time, the data period used, and the meaning of the measure.

Integrity of Publication Dates

The journal does not retroactively create or alter historical release dates to improve apparent punctuality. When an OJS date is technically incorrect, editors may correct the metadata with supporting evidence and retain an internal audit trail. Acceptance and publication depend on manuscript quality, not on promises of publication within a fixed period.
