Open Access Policy

Immediate Open Access

Journal Marine Services (JMS) is intended as a fully open access journal. Its scholarly articles are made freely readable and downloadable through the journal website as soon as they are published, without a subscription, reader registration requirement, or access embargo.

Open access includes more than free reading. Reuse and adaptation of material labeled CC BY-SA 4.0 are permitted in accordance with that license, provided users acknowledge the creators, indicate material changes when appropriate, and comply with ShareAlike terms. The license terms are explained in the Copyright and Licensing Policy.

JMS encourages responsible redistribution to educators, maritime training institutions, fishing cooperatives, coastal communities, public agencies, and researchers. Reproduced third-party content not included within an article's open license remains subject to its own rights statement.

Readers are not charged to access articles, and the journal does not impose author publication charges under its current Fees Policy. The publisher should ensure that complete article files remain accessible and that article-level licenses agree with the journal-wide policy.
