About the Journal

Journal Marine Services (JMS) is an open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to community engagement and community service, published by Politeknik Pelayaran Banten (Banten Merchant Marine Polytechnic), Indonesia, since 2025. The journal provides a scholarly platform for disseminating community service initiatives, applied innovations, technology transfer, and collaborative programs that contribute to maritime community development.

JMS focuses on community-oriented activities in nautical science, marine engineering, ship machinery, maritime electrical and electronic systems, maritime transportation, port operations, maritime logistics, marine environmental protection, shipping safety, maritime education, and coastal community empowerment.

The journal welcomes original community service articles that demonstrate clearly identified community needs, systematic implementation methods, active stakeholder participation, and meaningful outcomes. Particular attention is given to practical solutions, knowledge transfer, capacity building, and sustainable improvements in maritime and coastal communities.

JMS applies a double-blind peer-review process and promotes publication ethics, academic integrity, transparency, and evidence-based reporting of community service activities. All published articles are freely accessible to readers worldwide.

The journal is published twice a year, in April and October, and welcomes contributions from academics, researchers, maritime professionals, community engagement practitioners, and collaborating institutions in Indonesia and internationally.
