Copyright and Licensing
Copyright Ownership and First Publication
Under the EJMI recommended author-retained-copyright model, copyright in the scholarly article remains with its authors. By submitting and publishing an article with Journal Marine Inside (EJMI), authors grant the journal the right of first publication and permission to disseminate, preserve, and maintain the version of record and its bibliographic metadata. Authors are responsible for ensuring that they own or have permission to license material included in their articles.
Open License
Published scholarly articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/.
This license allows readers to copy, redistribute, remix, transform, and build upon the published material, including for commercial purposes, provided that they give appropriate credit, link to the license, indicate if changes were made, and distribute adaptations under the same or a compatible ShareAlike license as required by the license terms.
The journal imposes no additional restrictions inconsistent with the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. Third-party material included by permission may be subject to separate rights; its status must be identified clearly.
Self-Archiving and Reuse
Authors may share the published version of record in repositories, institutional websites, and other lawful channels, subject to preserving the copyright and license notice, proper attribution, and citation of the original publication. Articles are made available without embargo.
Copyright and License Notices
The copyright holder and applicable Creative Commons license should be identified consistently on the journal website, each article landing page, the PDF version, and the publisher's author agreement.
