Scope

Journal Marine Inside (EJMI) welcomes appropriately documented complaints concerning editorial procedures, research integrity, publication policies, and professional conduct. An appeal is a request for reconsideration of an editorial decision based on a specific procedural concern or substantive scientific reason; a complaint may concern conduct or the operation of the journal.

How to Submit a Complaint or Appeal

Write to p3m@poltekpel-banten.ac.id with the manuscript/article title, OJS manuscript number or DOI (if available), the decision or conduct at issue, a clear explanation, and relevant supporting documents. Personal allegations should not be circulated publicly during preliminary inquiry.

Fair Assessment

The editorial office acknowledges receipt and assesses whether the submission is within its competence. An editor or independent editorial representative who was not involved in the contested decision, where practicable, reviews the grounds and supporting evidence. Individuals with conflicts of interest do not assess a matter concerning their own conduct or decision. EJMI may request further information or consult independent experts or the publisher where appropriate.

Possible outcomes include confirmation of the original decision, clarification, renewed assessment, assignment to another editor, correction, or referral under the publication ethics process. A successful appeal does not guarantee acceptance. Repeated appeals with no new grounds may be closed with an explanation.

Confidentiality and Recordkeeping

Complaints and appeals are treated as confidentially as practicable. EJMI maintains an internal record of the submission, assessment, outcome, and communications and aims to resolve cases within a reasonable period appropriate to their complexity.
