Evaluasi penerapan Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) tank cleaning terhadap efisiensi persiapan muat pada Kapal Tanker MT Nova Naomi

https://doi.org/10.62391/ejmi.v7i2.140Pembersihan tangki (tank cleaning) merupakan tahapan krusial dalam persiapan muatan pada kapal tanker karena berpengaruh langsung terhadap kualitas muatan, keselamatan kerja, dan ketepatan waktu operasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penerapan Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) tank cleaning serta mengidentifikasi kendala yang mempengaruhi efisiensi persiapan muat di kapal tanker MT Nova Naomi. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung, wawancara, kuesioner, dan dokumentasi selama pelaksanaan praktik kerja laut (PRALA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan SOP tank cleaning di MT Nova Naomi belum sepenuhnya sesuai dengan standar internasional, khususnya terkait aspek keselamatan kerja dan kesiapan peralatan. Keterbatasan fasilitas pendukung, rendahnya pemahaman awak kapal terhadap SOP, serta pengabaian penggunaan alat pelindung diri menyebabkan proses pembersihan tangki menjadi tidak optimal dan berdampak pada keterlambatan transisi muatan dari Crude Palm Oil (CPO) ke Olein. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan pelatihan awak kapal, penyediaan peralatan yang memadai, serta pengawasan yang lebih ketat guna meningkatkan efektivitas, efisiensi, dan keselamatan dalam pelaksanaan tank cleaning.
Tank cleaning is a critical stage in cargo preparation on tanker vessels, as it directly affects cargo quality, occupational safety, and operational timeliness. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for tank cleaning and to identify factors affecting the efficiency of loading preparation on the tanker MT Nova Naomi. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed in this research. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation during the researcher’s sea practice (PRALA). The findings indicate that the implementation of the tank cleaning SOP on MT Nova Naomi has not fully complied with international standards, particularly regarding safety practices and equipment readiness. Limited supporting facilities, insufficient crew understanding of SOPs, and inadequate use of personal protective equipment resulted in suboptimal tank cleaning performance and delays in cargo transition from Crude Palm Oil (CPO) to Olein. This study recommends enhancing crew training, providing adequate cleaning equipment, and strengthening supervision to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and safety of tank cleaning operations.
